The foil
Cotton, acetone, ten fingers wrapped in silver. Twenty minutes where you cannot touch your phone, and then the clean-up.
Then you pick at the rest anyway.
The bond softens. The colour lets go.
We would rather tell you that than surprise you.
Warm vapour softens gel polish until it slides off. No foil. No scraping. No nails left thin and sore.
Cotton, acetone, ten fingers wrapped in silver. Twenty minutes where you cannot touch your phone, and then the clean-up.
The whole finger goes in. Skin, cuticle, everything. You come out wrinkled and dry, like you sat in a pool too long.
When it does not budge, you help it. That is the part that takes the top layer of nail with it.
Ten seconds with the buffer. Gel top coat is built to resist, so the vapour needs a way in. Skip this and nothing happens, which is the single most common reason these machines get blamed.
Remover goes in the vessel, the black plate goes on top, and each fingertip drops into its own hole above the liquid. Your skin never touches it. One hand at a time.
Lift the lid and the colour slides off with a wooden stick. No scraping, because there is nothing left to scrape.
Both hands: about twenty minutes.
Three moments, one press. Hold the panel and run the whole thing in four seconds. On your own kitchen table it takes ten minutes a hand.

Dewpoint is A$79 today instead of A$119. It pays for itself somewhere between the third and the sixth removal, and it does not stop working in January.
Straight talk about where these came from. Dewpoint is new, so it has no customers of its own yet. Every review below is a real buyer of this exact machine, model TMS-062, collected from the manufacturer’s own listings and translated where it was not written in English. Nothing has been edited and the bad ones are still here. When our own customers start writing, these come down.
Really happy with this product. It says you have to wait ten plus minutes for UV gel but it came off in five minutes. Much better way of removing gel. Fairly fast delivery too.
It works on acrylic gel too, using 100% pure acetone.

The device arrived on time and as described. I have used it and it was perfect for my needs. The instructions were easy to follow. It also came with spare utensils, for the dish and the nail holes, which will be very convenient in the long run. The temperature setting lets you make the steam at a comfortable temperature.

Works quite well. The steam light turns on before it is actually warm enough to generate steam. I think that is because it measures the temperature of the heating element instead of the liquid itself. It is just a matter of waiting 2-3 minutes more though.
The machine works really well for taking nails off. I recommend it.

Same as the photo, but between heating the machine up and then working the polish off both hands it takes more than 30 minutes. The gel does not come away with the steam alone, though it does help the removal. The time it takes is excessive.
Foil removal ties a tech to a client for twenty minutes and burns a fistful of cotton and wrap every single time. Dewpoint runs while you work on the other hand, and what is left in the vessel pours back into the bottle. Ten units in a salon is ten chairs that stop waiting.
These came from real reviews of steam removers, including the bad ones. We would rather answer them here than have you find out later.
It works when the shine is buffed off first and the gel is soaked long enough. Most of the one-star reviews on machines like this describe skipping the buffing step. It will not lift an unbuffed top coat, and we would rather you know that now than find out on your kitchen table.
Per hand, about the same. What changes is what it costs you. Your fingers are not wrapped, your skin is not sitting in acetone, and you are not filing the last of it off.
Yes, one hand at a time, about twenty minutes for both. That is the trade. You get the twenty minutes back the first time you do not have to file a damaged nail flat.
The unit warms the liquid to make vapour, it does not boil it, and your fingertips sit in the plate above it. Use it on a flat surface, away from open flame, in a room with air moving, and never leave it running unattended. That is the same care any acetone in your house deserves.
Twelve month replacement. If the unit fails inside a year, we send a new one. No return shipping.
